Bricks and mortar make a house, but the laughter of children makes a home. —Irish proverb

It is estimated that on any given night in Las Vegas
11,000 people are homeless.
Clark County School District estimates that 1,600 children enrolled can be identified as homeless.
That number is much greater.

For many years Mitchell had wanted to find his birth mother. For many years his mother wanted to find him. This year, it came true, and in a most unusual way:
An employee of the state of Michigan's adoption department made it her goal before retiring to assist Mitchell's birth mother one more time with the search.
The employee began searching the internet one more time for Mitchell. She found him finally through our Family Promise website, only because Mitchell and his wife had been guests with us in 2004 and allowed us to post a letter of thanks from them on our website.
Director Terry Lindemann was thrilled to give this information to Mitchell who was able to travel to Michigan and, on May 16th, meet with his birth mother at the home of his adopted parents.
Many of our network volunteers remember Mitchell, wife Theresa, and son Jared. Today, Theresa is a CAT Bus Driver, and have since given birth to two little girls. Mitch, Theresa, and their three children are members of our Family Promise Family and we celebrate this incredible and wonderful life event with them.
A special note of thanks goes out to that Michigan employee, whose tireless efforts brought these two wonderful people together again. Whomever you are: we THANK YOU!
